Group

 My chosen group for this project will be: Willow Rivera, Lucia Rodriguez, and Kai Lobban. I know these three personally, and this helped me chose them to be part of my group. In particular, I noticed that they each are very good at time management, an essential skill when it comes to the production process. I will be able to trust that they will each do their part to complete the project. With a team built, the production process should be much easier. Different parts of the workload can be assigned to each member so that less time is used up. As opposed to an individual doing the entire project, where one person has to handle, filming, acting, and editing all on their own. Teamwork is very important when it comes to a task like this, so I have made sure I have chosen team members that all get along well, and that are each capable of understanding their workload. For example, it has been decided that Kai will be filming the project, and that I will be editing. Now, this does not mean that Kai is obligated to do all of the filming, however it is mutually understood that it is her responsibility to handle the filming. Just like me, where the editing is my job, however it does not mean I can't reach out for help if I need any. This system should work great, and make the production process smooth. An additional advantage of working in a group are the different ideas each team member will produce. So, if a problem arises, four minds can get to work on a solution instead of one. Also, creative thinking isn't limited to just one person in a group, so if someone comes up with a better idea for a shot, it can be executed. Teamwork isn't just used in the media industry, as many jobs and careers require working in a group. So, this project will sharpen my teamwork and cooperation skills. I believe choosing a group for this project was a great choice. Not only, will the work get done faster, but we will have more ideas to use. In addition I will obtain cooperation skills necessary later in life.   "Run" is a movie that features a disabled teenage girl, running from her mother who kept her in isolation. This movie uses soft and low lighting, setting a dark, uninviting setting. It is common for thriller movies to have these things, due to their ability to drown out any form of happiness and make the scenes of the film unsettling. It is most noticeable by the audience because colors will be desaturated, environments will be dark, and shadows will carry a crucial part of the scene. I plan to use these features in my opening sequence, as it will help the audience ensure that this is indeed a thriller film. Also, with the premise of a loud noise, possibly a monster, occurring in the early scenes of the movie, my hope of creating an ideal environment for this premise will be accomplished by this camera work.          My name is Jacob Pineiro, an eleventh grade student attending Fort Lauderdale High School. I have been interested in the film industry for quite some time now, and this is one of the reasons I enrolled in the AICE Media Studies class. While I do not intend to pursue a career in this industry, I have always found the film industry interesting for a few reasons. One of them being that, contrary to popular belief, editing and scene selection takes quite some time, and the "filming" process is not the entire production process. To me, film and media take an important role in everyday life. More important than most people think. To understand this more, I took AICE Media Studies. So far, in the class we have produced two projects, one a commercial, and one a music video. Commercial Blog

 So, the commercial is finally finished. The final product is something I am extremely proud of, and I have definitely expanded my knowledge of production. In addition to this, I have worked with a team, a great opportunity to gain cooperation skills. I have been responsible for the editing portion of the commercial, meaning that I have been exposed to using software like iMovie. Perhaps most important of all, I have increased my problem solving skills. Issues during filming like the lunch bell, and other people in the scene had to be solved quickly. I find this to be an extremely important skill, and I was happy to be exposed to it. The commercial itself has come together very nicely, and I feel as if my team and I did a great job. It represents what Apple MacBooks are: simple. The addition of small things like the quote are crucial to the commercial, so I'm glad I was able to add those in. In the end, production was a tedious journey, but the product was worth it.
