Intro

   My name is Jacob Pineiro. I am a junior in high school and I am enrolled in the AICE Media Studies course. I have chosen this AICE Media Studies class because it piqued my interest. Film is always something I was interested, so this class was an obvious first choice as an elective. This class also offers an AICE credit, which is something that will help me obtain my AICE diploma. My goals for the future are to obtain my AICE diploma, so this course was chosen to help me achieve that goal. I hope to learn about the filming process in this course. In particular, I am excited for this music video project because I would like to edit. It has been something I have wanted to do for quite some time now, so an assignment is the perfect opportunity to do it. This project, creating a music video will have documented progress in the form of blogs. As for the music video itself, my peers and I have decided on an idea. The current idea is to make a video with the song "Good Days" by SZA, and I believe it has much potential. I hope this project will give some insight to some of my inquiries about the film industry. For example, how many takes will it take to get a final shot? In addition to this, I feel as if I will have a fun experience with filming a video with my peers. A great perk of this class is spending time doing hands-on activities like filming and planning. Since I will be documenting my progress, I will be able to see what steps I took to finish this music video. An advantage I share due to having a group is to be able to have many differing opinions on certain parts of the project. This will help with the filming process, as we will have multiple hands to keep busy. This will be a great learning opportunity for me and my peers. I look forward to completing this project.

  "Run" is a movie that features a disabled teenage girl, running from her mother who kept her in isolation. This movie uses soft and low lighting, setting a dark, uninviting setting. It is common for thriller movies to have these things, due to their ability to drown out any form of happiness and make the scenes of the film unsettling. It is most noticeable by the audience because colors will be desaturated, environments will be dark, and shadows will carry a crucial part of the scene. I plan to use these features in my opening sequence, as it will help the audience ensure that this is indeed a thriller film. Also, with the premise of a loud noise, possibly a monster, occurring in the early scenes of the movie, my hope of creating an ideal environment for this premise will be accomplished by this camera work. Introduction

         My name is Jacob Pineiro, an eleventh grade student attending Fort Lauderdale High School. I have been interested in the film industry for quite some time now, and this is one of the reasons I enrolled in the AICE Media Studies class. While I do not intend to pursue a career in this industry, I have always found the film industry interesting for a few reasons. One of them being that, contrary to popular belief, editing and scene selection takes quite some time, and the "filming" process is not the entire production process. To me, film and media take an important role in everyday life. More important than most people think. To understand this more, I took AICE Media Studies. So far, in the class we have produced two projects, one a commercial, and one a music video. Commercial Blog

 So, the commercial is finally finished. The final product is something I am extremely proud of, and I have definitely expanded my knowledge of production. In addition to this, I have worked with a team, a great opportunity to gain cooperation skills. I have been responsible for the editing portion of the commercial, meaning that I have been exposed to using software like iMovie. Perhaps most important of all, I have increased my problem solving skills. Issues during filming like the lunch bell, and other people in the scene had to be solved quickly. I find this to be an extremely important skill, and I was happy to be exposed to it. The commercial itself has come together very nicely, and I feel as if my team and I did a great job. It represents what Apple MacBooks are: simple. The addition of small things like the quote are crucial to the commercial, so I'm glad I was able to add those in. In the end, production was a tedious journey, but the product was worth it.
