Final Task

At last, my final task: the opening sequence. This project has taken much time and effort from not only me, but also the participants that I have used in the film. It would not have been possible to finish a project of this scale without some help from my production participants. In addition, my friend that helped me review this film has given me much insight to the small things that I could not catch. I am extremely proud of this project, even though it's only two minutes long. In respect to my production experience, this project is huge. This project is the accumulation of many hours of filming, editing, and acting. A huge thanks goes to my camera woman, Eva Lopez. Without her, I would not have been able to film anything at all. For me, the biggest step that I took was in the editing process. I have become very familiar with iMovie, and this project was an extreme stepping stone to getting there. I am very excited to show my final work.

Finalizing the Editing Process

Last blog, my final changes to the project were explained. However, my changes made during my second editing session have not been described. After I had completed my second editing session, I was able to say that I had completely finished my project. This editing process has been extremely long and difficult, and this was for two reasons. One, because this is the longest project I have edited so far, and this means that more time will have to be sunk into a larger project. Two, this project has required the most digital effects out of all of the projects so far. While it may not seem like adding titles is a lot of work, the difficulty in working with the editing software is extremely present. For example, titles in iMovie cannot be added to the scene in any way that the editor desires. It must be placed into the film with the "specialized" titles that the software has, and these titles will often carry their own properties, such as predetermined transitions. However, after

Changes Made From My Film Review

In my last blog, I discussed the process of editing and revising my project. The rest of this process is still going to be explained, however I am going to use this blog to explain something I did recently. As I have discussed before, the opening sequence was reviewed by a friend of mine, and they were able to give me some insight as to how fix my film. With this blog, I would like to explain what I did to correct the issues that were found in my project. The rest of the editing process will still be explained, however I am excited to express the changes made to my project. The first issue that I had to correct was the audio. With the feedback given, I was now aware that my project needed to have the song placed in a different scene. This was an easy change, as I could just slide the song via drag and drop into the place I wanted to. Unlike the music video, there is not much use in lining up the scenes to the audio, so the song could be in whichever position I chose. After doing this,

The Editing Process

Editing is finished, and this blog will be describing the first part of the editing process. After filming was finished, the editing process was started and now all of my project work had shifted into computer work. The first thing I had to work on was the transitions. This is my third time using iMovie, and I still believe it is a great and easy to use software. However, a sudden realization was made early into editing. This was that the software would take lots of time and effort to figure out. The good thing is, there is a very easy solution to this problem. As I quickly figured out, there are many YouTube videos on how to use iMovie. These videos will provide a clear description as to what I need to do in order to get the visual effect I desire. For example, the first challenge faced by me when starting this project was getting the fade in from black and the fade to black that my project needed. I spent much time looking on how to do it, frustrated. Finally, I gave in and decided

Film Review

At this point, I have finished all editing for my project. However, rather than focus on the editing for this blog, I would like to talk about my film review. After finishing all my editing, I had decided that I was going to show my project to a friend. By doing this, I was able to gain insight on my project and how it would seem to a random viewer. In addition to this, I also asked this friend what they thought the genre of my opening sequence would be if they had to guess. I will share their feedback in this blog, and later I will share the editing process. The first thing that my friend had offered some input on was audio. After showing them the opening sequence, they quickly told me that the music that was in the opening sequence fit the scene, however it started at a point in which the music would end quickly, and that it would be better off if I had started the music at an earlier scene. This makes sense, and as I was being told this there was something important that I realized.

The Conclusion to Filming

Today was the last day filming for the opening sequence. In general, I'd say that this day filming was the easiest out of the three days, with little difficulty regarding acting, location, etc. To be fair, the only scenes left to film today were at my house. Therefore, today's filming session did not take as much effort as the other days. With environmental troubles such as people, wind, noise, and, as my project experience has proven, even bees, filming outside can prove difficult. It may be such environmental situations that cause discrepancies like acting issues. In fact, the filming session of today had no problems on my end regarding acting, so this very well may be the case. The actors for today (the runner and the boss) did an amazing job, with everything getting done on the first take, and creating some great quality film. In addition to this, my camerawoman had done a perfect job of keeping the camera and angle as stable as possible. Later in the film review, I can m
